Left Handers have much to celebrate here in Niwot. Our town was named after Chief Niwot, whose name translates to "Left Hand" in the Arapaho language. It's only fitting that we embrace a holiday that celebrates our namesake. International Left Handers Day is August 13th and we intend to make this an out of the ordinary celebration for years to come!

This year the event will take place in Cottonwood Square on the corner of Niwot Rd. and 79th Street.  Come out early and stay late.

Sparky the Fire dog 3 - 6 p.m.

Low Rider show 2–6 p.m. presented by the Rollerz Only Car Club.  A special event for car owners and viewers. Bring the Kids!  Room for more entries!  Register at 303-652-0200.  Best in show will win a prize!

Beer Tent 4 - 9 p.m. featuring Left Hand Brewery and Bootstrap Brewing

The Niwot Community Semi-Marching Free Grange Band 4 - 5 p.m.

Dance to blues and rock and roll by Mary Jones Russes - 5 - 9 p.m.

International Left Handers Day was started on August 13, 1976 (Wikipedia). The organization that started Left Handers Day is now defunct, so not much is known about the past 34 years of celebrations. We pick up where they left off!
