Niwot Criterium Bicycle Race

The Niwot Criterium is promoted by Sanitas Sports and is a Front Range classic bicycle race.  A flat, fast, and technical 1-mile course through historic downtown Niwot, Colorado. With 2 of the 7 corners sharper than 90º, racers and spectators can expect an exciting day of racing – full of breakaways, shattered fields, and tactical moves. Come out and watch along 2nd Avenue at one of the many resturants which line the finishing straightaway.

 

    • 7:20 am Cat 4-5 Sr. Men, Jr's 40 minutes $35 and Jrs free
    • 8:15 am Cat 3-4-Women 40 minutes $25
    • 9:15 am Masters 35 plus 4-5, 40 min $35
    • 10:00 am Masters 45 plus, 55 plus 123 40 min $35
    • 10:40 am closed for brunch - streets open until 1:15 pm
    • (youth one lap fun ride between brunch break)
    • 1:30 pm Sr cat 3 men 50 min $1000 20 deep $40
    • 2:45 pm 35 masters open 50 min $500 10 deep $40
    • 4 pm Women Pro 1,2,3, 45 min $1000 10 deep $35
    • 5:15 pm Men pro 60 min $40 $2000 20 deep
    • 6:30 pm roads open
    • 6:45 pm awards ceremony at Colterra
    • Post party at Treppeda's Italian Ristorante  7 - 10 pm

    Thanks to the town of Niwot and Niwot Business Association, Colterra, Treppeda's Restaurant and Niwot Tavern.

    ACA / Sanitas Sports to provide Helmets, bikes, mentoring for any kids / adults with advance notice.  Bikes, helmets, USA Cycling / ACA coaches on site each week for short free clinic before events start. 

    All racers must have a current USAC license, ACA membership strongly encouraged to avoid 1-D ACA membership fee ($5). 1-day USAC licenses are exempt from 1-day ACA membership.

    Held under USAC Permit number: 2012-768, all USAC Rules apply. Gear Restrictions apply to all juniors (10-18).  See USAC Rule 1M6.  Bike restrictions apply to juniors 12 and under. See USAC Rule 1M7.  Points, 5 places deep, will be awarded each week to determine series places.  See website for details on points and overall prize list.
